Binge Eating Support Group | April 2- May 21
We are pleased to be offering our Binge Eating Support Group again. This support group is for those struggling with binge-eating disorder or emotional/compulsive eating. This group offers a safe and inclusive space that allows individuals to discuss topics important to achieving long-term recovery and share experiences and emotions to help each other make positive lifestyle changes.
While no formal BED diagnosis is required, this group is intended for folks who experience binge eating symptoms and emotional/compulsive eating behaviours. This group is not suitable for individuals with any other eating disorder diagnosis or those engaging in compensatory behaviours. Importantly, this is not a diet or weight-loss group - the focus is on eating behaviours and body neutrality/acceptance. Hopewell uses a weight-neutral, HAES, and anti-diet approach in all of our programming.
Clinician-led support groups are facilitated by mental-health professionals who help provide structure, information, and guidance. Clinicians support the group in exploring participant-chosen topics and ensure conversations stay within a safe scope. These groups are both educational and supportive in nature but are not therapy or a replacement for professional treatment.
Important Details:
As a closed group, we will be meeting via Zoom every Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, starting on April 2nd and running for 8 weeks, concluding on May 21st.
To make our programs as inclusive as possible, our 8-week support group is priced at $50, which helps us sustain and expand our services. We also offer a pay-what-you-can option, and all services are free for individuals identifying as Indigenous, First Nations, Métis, or Inuit.
