Binge Eating Support Group
We are pleased to be offering our Binge Eating Support Group this winter, facilitated again by Audrey Locane (nee Rutter). This support group is for those struggling with binge-eating disorder (BED) and/or emotional/compulsive eating. This group offers a safe and inclusive space that allows individuals to discuss topics important to achieving long-term recovery while sharing experiences and emotions to help each other make positive lifestyle changes.
While no formal diagnosis is required, this group is intended for folks who experience BED symptoms and/or emotional/compulsive eating behaviours. This group is not suitable for individuals with any other eating disorder diagnosis or those engaging in restrictive or compensatory behaviours.
Meeting Information
This group is designed to complement, not replace, services such as counseling, therapy, or in-patient care.
Duration: Monday, January 11th - March 15th (10 weeks)
Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Location: Zoom (Virtual)
Upon registration, you will receive a Participant Guide by email which includes the Zoom login information, our House Rules, and a short (optional) reflection questionnaire to get you thinking about what you’re hoping to gain from this group.
Cost and Financial Support:
At Hopewell, we understand the financial challenges that can come with accessing mental health treatment. Our mission is to fill the gaps in care by offering accessible support. To make our programs as inclusive as possible, our 10-week support group is priced at $60, which helps us sustain and expand our services.
We also offer a pay-what-you-can option, and all services are free for First Nations, Metis, and Inuit individuals. Please reach out to programs@hopewell.ca for more information about either of this options.
