General Peer Support Group

from $0.00
sold out

Our support groups meet weekly to provide a space for giving and receiving peer support, sharing information, and exchanging resources. The group is participant-driven, meaning members can help shape the discussion topics and share what feels meaningful to them in the first week (within a safe scope). This informal network connects individuals with shared experiences related to food, weight, and body image, offering an opportunity to explore the various factors that may influence disordered eating, as well as celebrate personal milestones in recovery.

This group is designed to complement, not replace, services such as counseling, therapy, or in-patient care. As a closed group, we will be meeting via Zoom every Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, starting on April 15th and running for 8 weeks (no group on May 13th), concluding on June 10th.

At Hopewell, we understand the financial challenges that can come with accessing mental health treatment. Our mission is to fill the gaps in care by offering accessible support. To make our programs as inclusive as possible, our 8-week support group is priced at $50, which helps us sustain and expand our services. We also offer a pay-what-you-can option, and all services are free for individuals identifying as Indigenous, First Nations, Métis, or Inuit/Innu.

Together, we aim to dismantle stigma, promote self-acceptance, and celebrate the diverse identities within our community. We are dedicated to reducing barriers to mental health support for everyone. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Programs Coordinator at programs@hopewell.ca
