General Peer Support Group
Support groups meet to give and receive peer support and information. The group operates with input from group participants; that is, group members can determine (within a safe scope) topics to be discussed, and information they want to share with one another in the first week. It is an informal network of individuals who share common struggles with food, weight and body image. This type of group is meant to complement, rather than replace services such as counselling, therapy and in-patient care. As this is a closed group, we will be coming together via Zoom on Tuesdays, starting August 6th for a duration of 8 weeks.
Led by our returning facilitator Alex, participants will explore various intersections that may influence disordered eating, and successes you have encountered throughout your recovery journey.
Together, we strive to dismantle stigma, promote self-love, and celebrate the diverse identities within our community. We are committed to working towards reducing barriers to support and mental health care. As such, we always provide a pay-what-you-can option for all of our programs, as well as no cost services to all persons identifying as Indigenous, First Nations, Métis, or Inuit/Innu.
